Gemma Briggs Photography
Gemma's practice is centred on autobiographical explorations of key women’s issues including motherhood, post-natal mental illness and domestic abuse. Her images challenge perceptions of truth and reality. An early career photographer, Gemma predominantly uses analogue techniques, exploring the use of hand-made props and artwork included within her images. She is currently studying for an MA Photography at Falmouth University.
Gemma works in arts communications, as Head of Marketing for Art UK, the online home of the national art collection. A former national newspaper features journalist , she worked in various roles at the Guardian and has freelanced as a writer for titles including the FT Weekend, Daily Telegraph, Times T2, Independent, Daily Express and Mail on Sunday 'You' magazine.
